Dear Donald’s Market on Hastings in Vancouver, A special shout-out to the inimitable Carmen at the check-out counter. Carmen always greets her customers by name — she’s memorized thousands (I think I’m number 9090, if I recall correctly) and also can say hello and goodbye and thanks in a number of languages. And she’s effervescent. (And of course the selection and variety and prices at Donald’s are terrific as well)
